Time , and the culture of hate

It is the loss of time that I miss the most. Time fly so fast and I will never get back. It is the seconds, minutes, hours, days, and years that I have spent in poverty, hardship in my younger years and childhood years. Children used to play and enjoy life, and I was working hard so I could give my earnings to my mother along with my other brothers who were doing the same, we study, go to school and work after school.

Days and months I was thinking, and planning my future with my dreams and Imaginations. I was a child when I got to know a country called Canada. I had a bottle of Canada dry soda with the map of Canada on it, it was my favorite drink ever and it used to come with multiple flavors. I used to look at the map of Canada and wonder how far it is and why people live so far in earth with the cold and blizzards, with polar bears and igloos.

We didn’t have Google search, I phone, computer or cellular phones. But we have libraries and books and the government of course allows you to study some books and hide others. That was the norm in Iraq before and now. The old map of Canada used to be (NORTH AMERICA) they mixed the U.S and Canada together in a map. I never in a million years thought I would end up in Canada.

Time was all we had and we used every second of the day to work, study, do our chores, help our mom and study hard then we go to sleep so tired with only one meal a day and maybe one apple before we go to sleep. I don’t know how we did it for almost 5 years until my father got out from the political prison with severe defect in his shoulder due to torture in the prison.

There was a spoiled rich ignorant Iraqi kid in our school from a rich Iranian family (Shia) . He used to be a bully to all the kids but cannot bully me at all; because I can destroy him with my anger and he knows it. He used to always tell me that I should leave school and work to help my family. And School wasn’t meant for the poor people, and God created poor people to work and support the rich!

I failed one year because I was helping my mom so I stayed out of school in that year as it was very hard for my mother to clean clothes and iron them for the neighbors, so she could earn some money. She used to sell homemade bread also. So when I went to school year after to my school, that friend already one year ahead of me but still in the same backward stupid mind, his mind never evolved. He used to laugh and point finger at me as if I was one year behind. But he used to shut his mouth when I stare directly IN his eyes without blinking with anger, and he used to run back to the safety of his class.

Times go by, years and years later I found myself in Canada back in 1979, and became a Canadian citizen back in 1983, years later I earned my diplomas, BSc, MSc and then my PhD. Time goes by with years of traveling and working in so many countries.

 I received a letter by mail when I was working for the JPMC, the royal family medical centre in Brunei. When I opened the letter it was from that stupid pathetic schoolboy. He was asking, letting me know that he managed to know about my address and my schooling success and got the information from my brother who had a store in Bagdad.

Yet he was still in his stupidity and was surprised how I managed to earn all these degrees and travel to foreign lands without any support or friends outside. He congratulated me and told me that his father was killed as he used to sell cigarettes and always with disagreement with the government rules, thief’s killed him and he lost the store, then his house burned down.

When evil help evil

His mother passed away while he was in Spain studying for a 2 years diploma in the tourism industry. He asked me if I could help him to get a job and he could come and work. I tried my best to help him but he refused the offer! He said it is insulting to him! Why did I ask him?

He said the offer was to work as a clerk in a travel agency , they offered 500 dollars a month and he stayed in one room sharing with 2 other Indians men in a 3 bedroom apartment.

I told him that’s the price for your level and education, you cannot speak English, your typing sucks, you don’t know how to use a computer . In that time the travel agencies need someone who knows all.

I told him that you should be lucky as I have this connection. I told him that the travel agency preferred Filipino workers as they speak perfect English, they are hardworking and humble, easy to work with, they are not fussy like you and they don’t mind living as roommates.

Then I told him that he should work any job in Iraq, to help himself and your sisters, and to forget about working overseas and studying more, as hiring procedures always focused on hiring people with good attitude before the skills and that he had none of both.

He later told my brother that I was so cold with him, I told my brother not to give my contact address to those idiots anymore. I guess God has ways to show us his miracles but all in due time. Time is the essence of everything. That’s why God made all this earth and universe in 6000 years, billions of years ago. He could make all of it in less than a second if he wants but he knows the importance of the time factor to us and to the universe.

There was an entity like my friend in heaven in that entity was the devil , he used to be mighty and bright, strong and full of light and worship to God , he used to be part of the elite angels and the chosen ,but he became falling angel, dark and cursed because of his pride, ignorance, non humbleness, and his prodigious look at the human, the new creation that God want him to control earth.

I live my life as a poor kid from Baghdad who has dreams as Aladdin and imaginations as Sinbad once had. But I always kept my humbleness, steadfast, and faith. I don’t blame that person, I blame his parents, his sick culture that promote hate and discrimination and tell you otherwise in your face, they lie and call it taqiyya (search this word in Google if you want to know more about this sick culture). Nowadays after all of these years they are still killing each other, destroying Churches and killing Kurd and Sunni Arabs.

The recent visit of the pop with his beautiful white peaceful robe and garment and handsome face full of hope to bring peace to the Christian Iraqi minority, while meeting the Iraq Shia Guru with his black robe and black turban look like the devil himself with his gloomy face, non smiling, dead expression, evil piercing eyes full of hate, look the different. The seconds, and the minutes sitting with him by the Pope was so strange and it felt like years sitting in front of a robot.

The murder of 6 million jewish by the germans Nazies, the 10 millions russians by Hitler, the one million arab algerians by the french, and millions others by the Italians, japanese ,Uk in india and many other evil armies to control other countries resources and people.

Once China evil president called the muslims chinese virus in china land, and then God gave him Covid and they destroyed this earth with thier culture of hate, as India president did. WHY- we ask?

I believe that experiencing poverty, hate and discrimination Can affects our body at the cellular level; I wish I have the time to study and research into that. I believe that all those factors can print itself in our DNA, and we can passé it to our generation to come.

The human body evolved to respond to perceived danger by stimulating a cortisol cascade. This ancient response taxes the body as it prepares us to fight or flee, but it’s supposed to be short-lived. If it’s chronically stimulated by happening too frequently or continuing for too long, it causes damage. That’s why you see the hate, wars in Iraq, Iran and Syria, Russia, China, India and other parts of the world like Myanmar who were in war for thousands of years. Hate is part of their culture. Hate to different cultures and skin color, hate to different classes and minorities, hate to different sects and the list goes on and on as the German Nazis did to the Jewish people.

 To wake up as poor person, from the minority people in the presence of ignorant culture among hateful people ‘It’s like facing tigers coming from several directions every day.’ We have to adopt and survive.

The result of facing those tigers daily is that our health declines disproportionately with age, as the damage of repeated or sustained cortisol cascades is compounded over time.

Native Indians are dying with covid virus like others, just like when millions of them died with the spanish flu brought by the evil christopher columbus.

This is a scientific fact and not just words, I have my PhD in public health and I know a few things. But tell that to the stupid, arrogant, ignorant, bias unqualified and uncivilized Iraqi, Iranians, and Syrian Government. You will be shot dead, as that is how they debate any issue ,it is lack of intelligence and depleted sense of humility over time .That happened and is still happening to the black people worldwide.

Take Saudi for example, they gave citizenship to a female robot made in China, and declined to give citizenship to thousand of Arabic people who were born and lived with them for hundreds of years, same goes with the Kuwaiti Government and the bedone people.

Poverty, hate, discrimination, bias can also cause stress anxiety and nightmares. It can affect your health, increased the rate of divorce and anger issues, depression and even suicide.

In the U.S.A people and some party members in the Government still treat the Mexicans, native Indians, and many other minorities as a second class citizen. The black people were not allowed to sit in the front of the bus or train until 1964. New Nazis are still alive in the U.S. They invade the nation capital congress! And nothing happened; they killed a police man and others and nothing happened. If those were black rioters, or other minorities they will be shot dead, and they will be called a terrorists, Islamist, haters, and they will go to jail for at least 20 years.

White people have a chronologically simpler, less intimate relationship to the black Americans, slaveholding past. Chronologically simpler because the abolition of slavery, the end of Jim Crow, the passage of the Civil Rights Act, and the election of the first Black president appear to demonstrate the linear march of Black progress.

Less intimate because past and present experiences of anti-Black racism are not in their cell function, causing them chronic health problems that dramatically shorten life spans. For Black people, the present is infused with the horror of daily reminders, preparation for, and experiences of racist events from the distant and recent past repeated in the present. That happened to the Jewish in Hitler and Stalin time too.

What are the boundaries of ‘the past’ when a pregnant Black woman passes their own, and the inherited ancestral trauma of experiencing degradation, abuse and indifference to their unborn? Same token goes to the Jewish lady who lived in Hitler time, or a Kurd, Sunni Arab and Christian mother who lives in Iran and Iraq, and so on.

People should allowed to sue Government on these bases, as health been affected, lives been and will be destroyed, longevity will be shortened all because of hate, discrimination and racism. This fact should be studied in detail and the UN should be allowed to sue CHINA, RUSSIA, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Myanmar, India, and some parties and agencies in the U.S that promote hate, new Nazism and violence.

Racism and its enduring structures rob words such as ‘past’, ‘back then’ and ‘the future’ of any real meaning. If the specter of racial violence is not present at the forefront of our minds, it’s lurking in the background and in our cells, hitching a ride to the next generation, holding us hostage in real time.

To survive here, I have no choice but to spend time adjusting and adapting to fit in, yet keeping my culture, faith and heritage, but in the same time I have to respect and protect this new country who breath a life of hope in me, who took me out of the culture of hate to be a real human bean, and treated me with dignity and respect which I never felt from my own country and people back home.

 Back home in the evil country and people, who killed my brother, my father, burned our house, destroyed our future and returned the country back to the dark ages, with dark turbines and evil theology, giving the breath of life to a new culture of hate.
